Useful Hints - Take
a few moments to read
- Origin of icon. The
country name shown in column 5 is the country of
origin of the icon.
- Previewing an image. To preview
an image, move your mouse over the image Number in
column 1. A popup window will open and the image
will show. The window closes when you move your mouse off
the link.
- Icon
information. Click the link in column 3
Name to see a full-screen image together with
further particulars : history and miracles associated with
the icon, life of the saint (if the icon is that of a
saint), iconographer, century, location... Right
clicking the link avoids the need for re-doing
your sort (reason: since the page automatically resorts
when retrieved, the sort you did gets lost, i.e. if you
left click the link).
- Kinds of sorts. The kinds of
sorts that can be performed are not limited to the five (5)
indicated in the column headings. For example, after having
performed a sort by country, a further sort can be
performed by type. As a result, the table will show the
sort by country for each icon type.
- Starting a
sort. To start a sort, click on one of the
5 headings of the Gallery-Index : Number,
Type,
Name, Century, Country.
