I was struck by the beauty of the icon of the Virgin of the Sign (or Mother of God of the Sign) by Olga Kirichenko. I love seeing the Virgin Mother with the face of the young woman she was when she gave birth. What perhaps impresses me most is that the Virgin's eyes (3rd click*) seem to express everything we know about her :
her Merciful Tenderness and Goodness, her Immaculate Purity and Holiness, and her Boundless Motherly Love.
