the Midi files on this site are in the public domain

General
There is a great number of sites on the Internet with midi music. There used to
be even more but lately quite a number of them have disappeared because of lawsuits in the
copyright arena. It is easy to get into trouble. Because a music title is public domain, for
example, does not mean that if I find a piece of music with that title, that it is public domain.
Many pieces of music with the same title have been "arranged" and copyrighted in later years that
are not public domain. Therefore, they are not legal for me to use. In order to avoid problems,
every midi music file on this site was examined on a case by case basis.
- Categories
The Midi Music files listed on this page are categorized in
4 classes as follows :
(a) Midi file is in public domain as stated on the site from which it
was downloaded, and as further verified, by IEC (www.IconsExplained.Com), of the midi file with
Gnmidi
(b) Midi file [probably] is in public domain, as no copyright information could be found
inside the file as verified by IEC, with Gnmidi
(c) Midi file is copyrighted as verified, by
IEC, with Gnmidi
(d) Status to be verified
